The Hazleton Little Cougars improved to 10-0 in dual meet competition over the weekend with wins over Del Valley and Honesdale. In the first match of the day the Cougars beat Del Valley 73-20. Recording pins for Hazleton were Devin Youngcourt, Jayson Brielmeier, Evan Hoherchak, Anthony Martoccio, James Brielmeier, Nic Schermerhorn, and Steve Longazel. Eric Moyer and Jimmy Hoffman both had tech falls while Frank Cunningham, Nick Kairewich, and Kaylee Grogan won by decision. Receiving forfeits were Dylan Moyer and Zac Bergerson.
Junior Varsity winners were Lucas Bodnar, Johnny Corra, Mike Mehalshick, Alex Moyer, Charles Everdale, Shane Noonan, Dalton Rupert, Kyle Kashack, Eryx Sabulsky, Josh Andreuzzi, Steve Martisofski, Bryce Molinaro, Ryan Welch, Hope Kinney, Carson Kinney, Kelbe Edwards, and Mike Fuchick.

In the second match of the day the Little Cougars beat Honesdale 90-9. Matt Brielmeier, Jayson Brielmeier, Anthony Martoccio, Frank Cunningham, Jimmy Hoffman, Nick Kairewich, Nic Schermerhorn, and Dylan Moyer all recorded pins. Mike Lombardo and John Kashack picked up decisions while Devin Youngcourt, Eric Moyer, Evan Hoherchak, Kaylee Grogan, Steve Longazel, and Zac Bergerson all received forfeits.

Hazleton – 47 Wilkes Barre YMCA – 39
In the battle of the unbeaten, the Little Cougars trailed the YMCA 39-29 with three matches left. With that being known the Cougars had to record all wins in order to win the match. Not only did they get all wins, but each of the three kids pinned their opponents earning them a 47-39 victory to stay unbeaten. The Little Cougars were led by Jayson Brielmeier, Evan Hoherchack, Jimmy Hoffman, Dylan Moyer, Carson Kinney, and Zack Bergerson all recording pins. Winning by major decision were Devin Youngcourt and Eric Moyer, while Nick Schermerhorn won by decision. In the Junior Varsity match wins were recorded by Lucas Bodnar, Matt Brielmeier, Charles Everdale, Shane Noonan, Josh Andreuzzi, Kyle Kashack, Ryan Welch, Hope Kinney, and Mike Fuchick.
Hazleton – 62 Wyoming Valley West – 27
In the second match the Little Cougars took on another unbeaten team, Wyoming Valley West. They quickly opened up a 47-3 lead and finished win a 62-27 victory. Recording pins were Devin Youngcourt, Johnny Corra, James Reed, Jayson Brielmeier, Jimmy Hoffman, Frank Cunningham, Dylan Moyer, and Carson Kinney. Anthony Martoccio had a tech fall while Evan Hoherchack, Mike Lombardo, and James Brielmeier all had decision wins. In the Junior Varsity match wins were by Matt Brielmeier, Mike Mehalshick, Alex Moyer, Charles Everdale, Shane Noonan, Dalton Rupert, Kyle Kashack, Eryx Sabulsky, Ryan Welch, Hope Kinney, Ben Young, Cameron Gallagher, Mike Fuchick, Steve Longazel, Zack Fuchick, and Wyitt Ranck. The Cougars next match will be Sunday against Crestwood.

Hazleton Cougars – 73 Pittston Patriots – 18
The Hazleton Area Little Cougars improved their dual meet record to 4-0 with two wins this past weekend. In their first match versus the Pittston Patriots they had a 73-18 win. Recording pins for the Cougars were Eric Moyer, Jayson Brielmeier, Anthony Martoccio, Frank Cunningham, and Jimmy Hoffman. Both Devin Youngcourt and James Brielmeier had tech falls while Zack Bergerson won by decision. Receiving forfeits were Michael Lombardo, Nick Kairewich, Kaylee Grogan, Dylan Moyer, and Nick Schermerhorn. In their second match of the day the Little Cougars beat the Pittston Wildcats with a score of 80-15. The Cougars recorded eight pins in this match from Eric Moyer, Anthony Martoccio, Frank Cunningham, Jimmy Hoffman, Michael Lombardo, Kaylee Grogan, Dylan Moyer, and Nick Schermerhorn. Brothers Jayson and James Brielmeier picked up major decisions, while Shane Noonan and Zack Bergerson won by decision. Receiving forfeits were Devin Youngcourt, Matt Brielmeier, and John Kashack.
