Danville Invitational Tournament results

1/8/11 – The Hazleton Little Cougars won 29 awards on Saturday at three different tournaments. Taking 1st place finishes were Devin Youngcourt, Johnny Corra, Carl Kapuschinsky, Joe Larock, Nick Dolak, Bryce Molinaro, Matt Brielmeier, Josh Andreuzzi and Jimmy Hoffman. Second Place awards went to Lucas Bodnar, Evan Hoherchak, Shane Noonan, Stanley Jimson, Dante Larock and Kaleb Yahner. Finishing 3rd were Peter Youngcourt, Megan Kernis, Greyson Shaud, Jake Marnell, Steve Martisofski, Charles Everdale , and Anthony Martoccio. Jayson Brielmeier, Christopher Cartwright, Mel Kernis, Jared Wolk and Joe Dolak finished 4th.

Jersey Shore Tournament
On Saturday the Little Cougars spent 11 hours in the Jersey Shore gym wrestling, but when it was finally over they earned 24 medals. Taking 1st place were Devin Youngcourt, Johnny Corra, Jayson Brielmeier, Anthony Martoccio, Carson Kinney, Ryan Welch, and Jimmy Hoffman. Second place finishes were by Lucas Bodnar, Charles Everdale, Evan Hoherchak, Hope Kinney, Shane Noonan, and Dalton Rupert. Coming home in third place was Bryce Molinaro, Steve Martisofski, and Zack Fuchick. Mike Fuchick took 4th, Nic Schermerhorn placed 5th, and Scott Miller, Kelbe Edwards, RJ Edwards, James Brielmeier, Kaylee Grogan, and Wyitt Ranck all took 6th.

Danville Team Tournament
The Hazleton Little Cougars took 14 top honors, 10 second place finishes, 7 third place finishes, and 5 fourth place finishes as they went on to win the Danville Team Tournament. Top honors were received by Devin Youngcourt, Johnny Corra, James Reed, Bryce Molinaro, Eric Moyer, Jayson Brielmeier, Shane Noonan, Anthony Martoccio, Frank Cunningham, Hope Kinney, Carson Kinney, Jimmy Hoffman, Dylan Moyer, and Zack Fuchick. Taking seconds were Matt Brielmeier, Alex Moyer, RJ Edwards, Charles Everdale, Steve Martisofski, Evan Hoherchak, Mike Lombardo, James Brielmeier, Nick Schermerhorn, and Zach Bergerson. Taking home third place were Mike Mehalshick, Josh Andreuzzi, Dalton Rupert, Ryan Welch, John Kashack, Kaylee Grogan, and Wyitt Ranck. Lucas Bodnar, Scott Miller, Kelbe Edwards, Mike Fuchick, and Kyle Kashack all took fourth.

Montgomery Novice Tournament
The Little Cougars sent 9 kids out to the Montgomery Novice Tournament and placed all of them in the top 3. Taking first for the Cougars were Devin Youngcourt, Matt Brielmeier, James Reed, and Dalton Rupert. Receiving second place honors were Mike Mehalshick, Johnny Corra, Josh Andreuzzi, and Steven Martisofski. Rounding out in third place for the Cougars was Lucas Bodnar.

Youth Wrestling Hershey Open
The Little Cougars took ten wrestlers and came home with four first place wins, three second place wins, and three third place wins. Taking 1st place honors were Jayson Brielmeier, Charles Everdale, Shane Noonan, and Jimmy Hoffman. Second place finishes were recorded by Devin Youngcourt, Steve Martisofski, and James Brielmeier. Third place honors were taken by Lucas Bodnar, Bryce Molinaro, Wyitt Ranck. Jimmy Hoffman had an 11 second pin in the Junior division and Steve Martisofski had a 10 second pin in the Pee Wee division. For their accomplishments they received special awards. The Little Cougars next match will be against Wilkes Barre YMCA and Wyoming Valley West on Sunday.

Warrior Run Open Tournament
The Hazleton Area Little Cougars wrestled in the Warrior Run Open Tournament this past Saturday. Taking first place honors for the Little Cougars were Jayson Brielmeier, Charles Everdale, Evan Hoherchak, and Jimmy Hoffman. Receiving second place finishes were Bryce Molinaro, Shane Noonan, Steve Martisofski, Frank Cunningham, and Zack Bergerson. Taking home a third place finish were Devin Youngcourt, Johnny Corra, Lucas Bodnar, Michael Mehalshick, James Reed, Josh Andreuzzi, Anthony Martoccio, Dalton Rupert, James Brielmeier, Ben Young, and Wyitt Ranck. Rounding out for the Little Cougars was Scott Miller receiving a fourth place finish in his tournament.

Pittston Tournament
This past weekend the Little Cougars sent 10 out of 12 wrestlers into the finals, ending up with five 1st places and five 2nd places. Taking 1st were Shane Noonan, Anthony Martoccio, Hope Kinney, Carson Kinney, and Jimmy Hoffman. Receiving 2nd places were Johnny Corra, Jayson Brielmeier, Josh Andreuzzi, Frank Cunningham, and James Brielmeier. Rounding out the 12 kids were Devin Youngcourt placing 3rd and Wyitt Ranck placing 4th.

Western Wayne Tournament
The Hazleton Little Cougar Wrestling Club competed in the Western Wayne Tournament taking 1st place honors were Jayson Brielmeier, Shane Noonan, and Jimmy Hoffman. Placing 2nd were Johnny Corra. Coming in 3rd were James Reed, Evan Hoherchak, Anthony Martoccio, James Brielmeier, and Zack Bergerson. Taking 4th place was Owen Nester and Josh Andreuzzi. Placing 5th were Lucas Bodnar and Allison Spachman. In the Junior High division, Derek Spachman received 3rd place.
